Miss Universe 2023: Five contestants selected for MUBA Cosmetics' photoshoot


Five contestants vying for Miss Universe 2023 have been selected for a special photoshoot with MUBA Cosmetics, the official makeup sponsor of the 72nd Miss Universe competition.

They were Camila Avella of Colombia, Mariana Downing of the Dominican Republic, Rikkie Valerie Kollé of the Netherlands, Athenea Pérez of Spain, and Anntonia Porsild of Thailand.

The photoshoot which was themed Appetite for MUBA "Eat, Sleep, Do Makeup & Repeat" took place at InterContinental San Salvador-Metrocentro Mall, the official hotel residence of this year's pageant in El Salvador.

Wearing Lugó Lugó Brothers creations and glam looks courtesy of the cosmetic line's makeup artists, the contestants were shot by official photographer Enmanuel Baez.

MUBA Cosmetics has been the official makeup sponsor of the Miss Universe pageant since 2020. The company was founded by Miami-based Colombian makeup artist and hairstylist Andres Felipe Cabrera.

Breea Yamat was crowned Miss Hawaii USA 2024 during the state final competition held on Friday, April 19 at Royal Hawaii Center Theater. The 27-year-old Mexican-Filipina beauty from Oahu will now prepare to represent Hawaii at Miss USA 2024 in Hollywood, California in August. She succeeds last year's winner,  Savannah Gankiewicz , who placed first runner-up at Miss USA 2023 in Reno, Nevada last September. Ukraine's Angelina Usanova crowned Miss Eco International 2024

Angelina Usanova from Ukraine was crowned Miss Eco International 2024 on Sunday, April 28 at the Triumph Luxury Hotel in Cairo, Egypt. The 26-year-old singer-songwriter bested over 40 other contestants to win the international title. She succeeds last year's winner from Vietnam, Nguyen Thanh Ha. Chantal Schmidt of the Philippines was announced first runner-up while Nikita Dani of Canada, Fabiane Alcarde Goia of Brazil, and Valerie Avril of Indonesia were the second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively. This year's event marked the 9th edition of the Miss Eco International pageant. It was also the first time for Ukraine to win the competition. Miss Delaware USA 2024 is Alysa Bainbridge

Miss Newark, Alysa Bainbridge, was crowned Miss Delaware USA 2024 during the state final on Sunday, April 28 at Laird Performing Arts Center in Wilmington. The 25-year-old public speaker, host, and mental health advocate will now prepare to represent Delaware at Miss USA 2024 in Hollywood, California this summer. She succeeds last year's winner Noa Mills. No stranger to pageantry, Alysa was the winner of Miss Pennsylvania's Outstanding Teen 2016. In 2022, she became Miss Pennsylvania and went to Miss America 2023 in Connecticut last December. The new Miss Delaware USA was born and raised in Berks County, Pennsylvania. She holds a bachelor's degree in communication studies from Saint Joseph's University and a master's in leadership from Cabrini University. Alysa is an adovocate for mental health and recovery. Miss Universe Germany 2024 is Pia Theissen

Pia Theissen was crowned Miss Universe Germany 2024 on Sunday, April 28 at Living Hotel de Medici in Düsseldorf. The 25-year-old social worker, occupational therapist and yoga teacher from Cologne will now prepare to represent Germany at Miss Universe 2024 in Mexico later this year. Annabelle Keller and Ilke Filiz were the first and second runners-up, respectively, while Angelina Matic, Jennifer Monreal, and Tatjana Genrich rounded out the Top 6 finalists. Miss Universe Netherlands' national director Milou Verhoeks, reigning Miss Denmark Nikoline Uhrenholt Hansen, and former Miss Universe Germany Soraya Kohlmann were among the judges. The new Miss Universe Germany succeeds last year's winner  Helena Bleicher , who participated in Miss Universe 2023 last November in El Salvador. Miss Okemos, Alma Cooper was crowned Miss Michigan USA 2024 on Sunday, April 21 at McMorran Entertainment Center in Port Huron, Michigan. The 22-year-old scholar, advocate and US Army officer will now prepare to represent Michigan at Miss USA 2024 in Hollywood, California this August. Alma holds a bachelor of science degree in mathematics from the United States Military Academy at West Point. The second lieutenant officer is also a Knight-Hennessy Scholar, currently pursuing her master's degree in data science at Stanford University in California. She succeeds last year's winner, Alexis Fagan-Williams. Luciana Vasquez from Peru was crowned Teen Universe 2024 on Sunday, April 28 in a glittering competition held in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. The 18-year-old fashion model and student from Iquitos, a city in the region of Loreto, succeeds last year's winner from Mexico,  Mariana García . Valentina Colmenares of Venezuela was the first runner-up while Maria Eugênia Raposo of Brazil, Ana Paredes of Spain, and Ziari Ruiz of Nicaragua were the second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively.
