Miss Universe 2023 contestants to wear 'Miss Universe by Rubin Singer' Off the Runway collection for the swimsuit competition

Miss Universe branches into e-commerce and merchandising, launches swimwear line with top designer Rubin Singer

The Miss Universe Organization has just announced "Miss Universe by Rubin Singer" as their first-ever collaboration with another brand to create a merchandise line, as well as their first line of e-commerce merchandise.

As the official swimwear of the 72nd Miss Universe pageant in San Salvador this month, the contestants will wear its first limited collection "Off the Runway" for the upcoming preliminary and final show's swimsuit competition.

The collection includes plus-size and modest offerings, in addition to dozens of high-fashion looks from the renowned womenswear designer. It will be available for pre-order on November 15 and shipping start in late December 2023 to January 2024.

All the looks are designed and produced by Rubin Singer, and sold through Miss Universe, under a new combined logo. The line will be updated with quarterly drops and new collections through September 2024.

Additionally, there will be a limited release of the official Miss Universe t-shirts and hoodies, exclusively available on the Miss Universe app and website.

"Rubin's work is innovative as well as stunning," said Paula Shuggart, president of MUO. "As a brand that started out in swimwear over 70 years ago, we're excited to modernize our runway with his take on sensuality and power.

Famed for creating Beyonce's iconic Super Bowl costumes in 2023, Rubin Singer has become a go-to designer for an impressive array of A-list celebrities including Shakira, Iman, Jennifer Lopez, Cardi B, Ariana Grande, Julia Roberts, Ashley Graham, Taylor Swift, Mariah Carey, Zendaya, Kate Walsh and Alicia Keys.

"I have been a longtime fan of the Miss Universe Organization," he said. "My design philosophy is that I believe fashion is social armor. When I'm designing, the words that occupy my thoughts are confidence, power, seriousness, and decadent whimsical femininity. I firmly hold the belief that this brand thrives at the intersection of what's achievable when the strength of women and the allure of a dream converge."

"These designs support women, power, and femininity, and we look forward to seeing the delegates on stage owning their sexuality and agency," said Amy Emmerich, CEO of MUO. "We're excited to finally mobilize this fanatical audience and create retail touchpoints that can be utilized throughout the year, giving our fans a chance to own some of the unique MUO bravado for themselves."

In addition to swimwear, MUO is engaged in a range of new licensing and merchandising deals, including skincare, beverage, and travel. Future products will launch in the U.S. market in 2024.
