Monique Riley of New South Wales has been crowned as Miss Universe Australia 2022 on Friday, September 9 at Warner Bros. Movie World on the Gold Coast, Queensland. The 27-year-old model, actress, and executive assistant with a degree in creative industries from the Queensland University of Technology will now prepare to represent Australia at the 71st Miss Universe pageant. She succeeds last year's titleholder, Daria Varlamova. Romée Dahlen has been officially announced as Miss International Norway 2022 and will represent her country at the 60th Miss International pageant in Japan this December. The 18-year-old medical student from Bjørkelangen was named first runner-up at Miss Norway 2022 which was held last August 13. "I'm super excited and can't wait to meet the other girls and show you everything I've been preparing for," she wrote on social media after announcing her new title. Miss International 2022 will be held on December 13 at the Tokyo Dome City Hall. The winner from 2019, Sireethorn Leearamwat of Thailand will crown her successor at the end of the event.
