Miss Universe Nigeria 2023 is Ugochi Ihezue


Miss Imo, Ugochi Ihezue, was crowned Miss Universe Nigeria 2023 on Sunday, September 10 at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The 26-year-old visual artist and women's advocate with a master's degree in business administration will represent Nigeria at Miss Universe 2023 in El Salvador this November.

Another winner, Zamfara's Sectra Okundaye was crowned Miss Supranational Nigeria 2023 and will next year go to Poland to compete in Miss Supranational 2024.

The runner-up was the representative of Ekiti, Princess Agunbiade while Lagos, Tofe Olagoke, and Anambra, Paula Ezendu were the rest of the Top 5 finalists.

Completing the Top 15 were Katsina, Cynthia Okoro, Ogun, Olashubomi Balogun, Jigawa, Perpetual Ukadike, Ebonyi, Chimamaka Immaculate Ali, Rivers, Nyekachi Douglas, Cross River, Louisa Jacob-Duke, Nasarawa, Nana Aisha Abubakar, Borno, Chinaza Miracle, Niger, Princess Harnet Eweka, and Ondo, Inem Shina.

The new Miss Universe Nigeria is no stranger to pageantry, having joined and won the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MGBN) 2017. She went on to participate in Miss World 2017 in Sanya, China where she placed in the Top 15.

This year's standalone national competition for Miss Universe Nigeria was a spin-off from the renowned MBGN pageant of the Silverbird Group headed by Guy Murray-Bruce.

Last year's winner Hannah Iribhogbe crowned her successor at the end of the glittering event.

Alejandra Rodríguez was crowned Miss Universe Buenos Aires 2024 in a competition held on Sunday, April 21 at Corregidor Hotel in La Plata. The 60-year-old lawyer and journalist bested more than 30 other contestants to win the title. She will now prepare to represent Buenos Aires at Miss Universe Argentina 2024. To recall, the Miss Universe Organization removed the age limit requirement last year so now anyone from the age of 18 can join the pageant and this applies to all its national franchises. Miss Universe Dominican Republic 2024 is Celinee Santos Frias

Celinee Santos Frias was crowned Miss Universe Dominican Republic 2024 during the Miss Republica Dominicana 2024 final competition held on Sunday, May 5 at Centro de Convenciones Sambil in Santo Domingo. The 24-year-old model and actress, representing Distrito Nacional, will now represent the Dominican Republic at the Miss Universe 2024 pageant in Mexico later this year. Melissa Nuñez of the Dominican Community in the USA was first runner-up. She received the title Miss International Dominican Republic 2024 and will go to Miss International 2024. The second runner-up, Haidy Cruz of Monte Cristi was named Reina Hispanoamericana Dominican Republic 2024 and will go to Reina Hispanoamericana 2024. Samantha Poole bested 11 other finalists to be crowned Miss New Zealand 2024 (Miss International New Zealand 2024) on Sunday, May 5 at Bruce Mason Centre in Takapuna Beach. The 21-year-old model and digital design graduate of Auckland University of Technology will represent New Zealand at Miss International 2024 in Tokyo, Japan later this year. Hawaii's Savannah Gankiewicz becomes the new Miss USA

The Miss USA organization has just announced Savannah Gankiewicz of Hawaii as the new Miss USA following the resignation of Noelia Voigt. According to the official announcement, Savannah will be crowned in her home state of Hawaii in a special coronation ceremony next Wednesday, May 15. The new Miss USA was crowned  Miss Hawaii USA in January last year and went on to participate in Miss USA 2023 in Reno, Nevada last September. She finished as first runner-up. Savannah is of Filipino, Vietnamese, and Polish descent born and raised in Kihei on the island of Maui. She is a model, entrepreneur, and self-love advocate. "My decision to accept the Miss USA crown was not one that was made lightly. I stand with Noelia and admire her strength to step down and prioritize her mental health," she wrote in an official statement. "To the state of Hawaii and my family and friends who have always uplifted me during this journey. it is a privilege to accept this title on behalf of you.

New Miss USA and Miss Teen USA franchise partner announced

Fashion designer Laylah Rose has been announced as the new license holder and will serve as the president and CEO for the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants. The founder of Laylah Rose Couture and also the CEO of VIP Pageantry replaces Miss Brand and former Miss USA national director Crystle Stewart. Reno, Nevada will again host this year's Miss USA and Miss Teen USA with Emmy Award-winning executive producer Kerri Zane of Kerri Zane Enterprises and Bud Brutsman of Brentwood Communications International, Inc. handling the productions. Miss USA 2023 Noelia Voigt officially announced her shocking resignation as titleholder in a post on social media on Monday, May 6. "I realize this may come as a large shock to many.
